I noticed that there's a lot of people who comes to TF to ask for translation and stuff. That's ok i guess especially when there are people who could help got time and all. It's also fine when people are requesting to translate complicated stuff such as image documents, and colloquial words and sentenses. I guess we have to do those things manually.
However, for some who needs immediate translation of formal words and sentences it might be a good idea to have somewhere in TF home page a translation space where they could type or copy and paste Japanese texts and get the translation directly from Timog. That way they wouldn't have to go anywhere else, and we could provide support as they do the translation thingy.
In connection to this I found a translation company SYSTRAN Language Translation Technology (http://www.systranbox.com/) catering to websites that need translation services. I don't have anything to do with the said company :D , just an example, maybe there are better web translation solutions out there, so any input about this would be welcome.
Anyway, as I read the infos there, I get the feeling that it would be an easy work to do. Hmmn... However, you guys might be busy at the moment.
Another substantial problem is the cost of porting their translation services in Timog. It also seems that we could choose particular languages that we need for Timog (Japanese to English and maybe vice versa) so as to reduce costs. I don't know how much but I could send them an inquiry for you. ;)
Maybe you guys could talk about this and discuss the cost and benefit this might mean to Timog and to the community itself.
Thanks guys for all the things that you've done for us.:thumb:
p.s. to other members, you could also write your comments about this, i'm sure people managing this site will want to hear your valuable opinions too.:)
