A dependent visa is a Visa for a legal spouse and/or minor child(ren) to accompany a member of the family employed in Japan. And these are the requirements if the employed member is already in Japan:
# Valid passport
# One visa application form completed and signed
# One photograph (taken within 6 months)
# Certificate of Alien Registration of the employed member of the family. This is issued by the employed member's local Town Hall or Ward Office
# Letter of employment from the employer in Japan
# Certificate of Income of the employed member of the family

meron akong kilala na ganito rin ang sitwasyon, nakuha rin siya ng mother niya who is married to a japanese when he was still a minor, ngayon nakakilala siya ng isang girl at pinakasalan niya ito sa pinas hanggang sa mag ka anak sila. that time ang visa niya is long term, ngayon noong ilang buwan na ang baby nila kinuha niya ang wife niya, then afterwards nakuha na rin niya ang anak nila as his dependent.
this time meron ng permanent residency silang mag anak (with the 2 kids)
why not try? baka pwede ring umobra ang ganito sa friend mo, sa mga processing at papers na kakailanganin magtanong tanong lang sa marunong.:)
