Getting my wife a dependent visa

Hello again TF friends,

I have a dilemma, I would be letting my wife appy for a dependent visa within this week already. Do you think she has a chance to be a dependent with these premises:

1. I have a 1 yr working visa here.
2. I am employed in a Japanese Engineering company.
3. I have a CoE
4. My salary ranges from 160-200K
5. I have been here for 2 months already.

Do you think she will be given a dependent visa?
I really want to have my wife over here.

I think you can try to apply for a Certificate of Eligibility for your wife
for as long as you can produce a Certification from your company, and you can
comply with all the documentary requirements specified by the Japanese
Immigration Bureau.

Please hurry while you still have a visa...Try to look for the link to the Japanese
Immigration Bureau in the top page of Timog..

I think you need to get a list first of the requirement from the Japanese Ministry
of Immigration webpage. I dont exactly remember the type of docs because I applied for the Eligilibility while I was doing Post-grad studies on a Japanese scholarship so what I needed was a Certification from my university.Anyway,wh en I applied for my Researcher visa, I was given a Certificate of Emplyment by my institute. Maybe you need a similar document to show where you get your salary? Please ask other people who have done it when they were already working....

Anyway,the rationale is you are supposed to show that you will have a source of income to support your dependent while you are here in Japan.

Anyway, once your wife is able to come here on a dependent visa,she can apply for a work permit which is effective during the entire visa period .So she can also work for a limited period of time..If she has bachelor's degree, please ask her to bring her diploma and transcript because there are also a lot of English teaching jobs available now..Please check..daijob.com of gaijinpot.com...
