"If anybody says that the one true God,Our Creator and Lord cannot be known with certainty in the light of human reason by those things which have been made, anathema sit".The subjective principle of knowledge is natural reason in the condition of fallen nature. The knowledge is from its nature and manner a knowledge of certitude. The existence of God can be proved by nature.According to the Holy Scriptures;"For by the greatness and of the beauty, and of the creature, the creator of them may be seen"."For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made. His eternal power and His divinity also:so that they are inexcussable".God also is proved in our conscience."For when the Gentiles, who do not know the law do by nature the things that are of the law;these, having not the law,are a law to themselves.Who shew the work of the law written in their hearts".
The heathens know naturally, without supernatural revelation, the essential content of the Old testament law.In theirs hearts a law has been written whose binding power indicates a Supreme Lawgiver.
God has called everything into existence from nothing,so that His greatness might be known and understood through His works.Just as the soul in man is not seen,as it is invisible, but is known through the movement of the body,so God cannot be seen with human eyes;but He is observed and known through providence and His works.God is the director of everything, eventhoug h He is not seen with bodily eyes,as He cannot be apprended by them.
The knowledge of the existence of God is implanted(by Him)in all in their nature. The knowledge of Him is said to be innate in us so far as we can easily know the existence of God by means of principles which are innate in us.

I should have written "inexcusable rather than inexcussable".I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

hello fisher..just found this thread. i was about to post a new topic but this is somehow related to mah dilemma...which has been buggin me for years now.
i didn't know that i'm an agnostic theist until last night when i had a conversation wit a friend. i want to believe that there is a God. but i've got so many questions in mah head, in mah heart but i cannot find definite answers. i'm thinkin if there is really life after death. if there is really apocalypse. if everythin in the bible is true...etc. etc.
i've been exposed to many religions but been a catholic ever since. i'm not religious but i've been active in church activities in high school. i just find it hypocritical to go to church when i have doubts in me. i actually stopped prayin at night...cuz i'm ashamed to call the name of God just to ask for help.
for me, religion is only man made. i'm not here to preach, for there is nuthin to preach. maybe i would just die without knowin the truth.

Dear Infinite_trial, I will include you on my prayers.
I was once on that path. Didn't bother what's the truth anyway. Though the thirst inside my soul did not satisfy my self conviction.
Thirst reached the peak. And asked if there is really God. If Jesus is worthy to praise and worship. I asked for the truth.
I experienced it. And I can say deep from my soul, it's so wonderful, and words are not enough to explain about it.

I may add a post to fisher the following verse in Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse"
As you know the nature of an artist through his works of arts, also you will know the nature of God through His creations.
I hope this verse will help show the existence of God based on the scriptures.
