Aaayyy!!! naku wala na talaga akong maintindihan... eh sa pagkakaalam ko meron sila tampohan ng parents niya & kung pwede ba daw friend na lang nya ang magwi-witness at pipirma, sabi ko naman wala akong alam tungkol dyan. Mga ka T-F ano ba sa tingin nyo kailangan ba talaga may witness sa kasal?... at ano naman kayang documents ang kailangan pirmahan daw ng pamilya nya? nalilito na talaga ako sa totoo lang, I need experts advice & please help me sa translation,... thanks po in advance!!! :bowdown: :bowdown: :bowdown:

Although the constitution stipulates that a marriage is determined by the consent of the couple, the marriage report does have sections of 2 witnesses.
(If you are under 20, aside from the 2 witnesses, consent of your parent will be needed, too.)

If the witness is an adult, anybody is OK:
Japanese, foreigners, relatives, friends, neighbors.

Some people are afraid to become a witness, as if becoming a guarantor of debt.
However, there is no financial responsibility for the witness.

Therefore, the Hanko of the witness can be the 100 yen shop Hanko.
It does not have to be Jitsuin. (Registered Hanko that you use for important financial transactions, such as buying a car.)

For a foreigner, signature will be accepted instead of Hanko.

For your information, report of divorce is the same in style.
There is a section for the witnesses. Witnesses don’t have to be the same persons that witnessed the marriage.

I have witnessed both marriage and divorce papers several times, because if I explain these things, people always ask me to be a witness for them.
Of course, I witness only when I know it is true marriage. (or divorce.)
