What He wants for us is to enjoy life to the fullest...kaya ako uuwi na sa Pinas...hehehe :D

Mat 6:25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, {as to} what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, {as to} what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Mat 6:26 "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and {yet} your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?

Mat 6:27 "And who of you by being worried can add a {single} hour to his life?

Mat 6:28 "And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,

Mat 6:29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.

Mat 6:30 "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is {alive} today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, {will He} not much more {clothe} you? You of little faith!

Mat 6:31 "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?

'Mat 6:32 "For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Mat 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Mat 6:34 "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Psa 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psa 91:2 I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!"

Psa 91:3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence.

Psa 91:4 He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

Psa 91:5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day;

Psa 91:6 Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.

Psa 91:7 A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, {But} it shall not approach you.

marami akong favorites, those that inspire, stregthen, etc.
one of them is the promise of Jesus Christ;

John 14: 1-3; "Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so, I should have told you. I go and prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I Am there ye maybe also."

His promise of Salvation.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be throughly equipped for every good work.

In Job chapters 38, 39, 40, 41

God's speech. He spoke out of a whirlwind, dwelling on the Ignorance, Impotence, Helplessness and Infinitesimal Smallness of Man compared to God, asking questions after questions, that awed Job into silence, and drove him to his knees.

And anybody reading these are humbled.

"Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?.....
Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand.
Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who streched a measuring line across it?
On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone while the morning stars sang together and the angels shouted for joy?........."

and so on till chapter 41.

Sa parables naman ang favorite ko ay ang "The lost coin", "The lost sheep", at saka yung "The prodigal son"... Luke 15

But I thank Him for that.

Story of the Lost Sheep

Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach.

2 This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such despicable people-even eating with them!

3 So Jesus used this illustration:

4 "If you had one hundred sheep, and one of them strayed away and was lost in the wilderness, wouldn't you leave the ninety-nine others to go and search for the lost one until you found it?

5 And then you would joyfully carry it home on your shoulders.

6 When you arrived, you would call together your friends and neighbors to rejoice with you because your lost sheep was found.

7 In the same way, heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!

Story of the Lost Coin

8 "Or suppose a woman has ten valuable silver coins* and loses one. Won't she light a lamp and look in every corner of the house and sweep every nook and cranny until she finds it?

9 And when she finds it, she will call in her friends and neighbors to rejoice with her because she has found her lost coin.

10 In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents."

Story of the Lost Son

11 To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: "A man had two sons.

12 The younger son told his father, `I want my share of your estate now, instead of waiting until you die.' So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons.

13 "A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and took a trip to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money on wild living.

14 About the time his money ran out, a great famine swept over the land, and he began to starve.

15 He persuaded a local farmer to hire him to feed his pigs.

16 The boy became so hungry that even the pods he was feeding the pigs looked good to him. But no one gave him anything.

17 "When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, `At home even the hired men have food enough to spare, and here I am, dying of hunger!

18 I will go home to my father and say, "Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you,

19 and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired man." '

20 "So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long distance away, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.

21 His son said to him, `Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.*'

22 "But his father said to the servants, `Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger, and sandals for his feet.

23 And kill the calf we have been fattening in the pen. We must celebrate with a feast,

24 for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.' So the party began.

25 "Meanwhile, the older son was in the fields working. When he returned home, he heard music and dancing in the house,

26 and he asked one of the servants what was going on.

27 `Your brother is back,' he was told, `and your father has killed the calf we were fattening and has prepared a great feast. We are celebrating because of his safe return.'

28 "The older brother was angry and wouldn't go in. His father came out and begged him,

29 but he replied, `All these years I've worked hard for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends.

30 Yet when this son of yours comes back after squandering your money on prostitutes, you celebrate by killing the finest calf we have.'

31 "His father said to him, `Look, dear son, you and I are very close, and everything I have is yours.

32 We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!' "

hi there alexb,

These parables just show how merciful and just our Heavenly Father is. Also depicts how full of love he is, and so fond of people, although we are imperfect. God is perfect but He is not a perfectionist.

These parables are so inspiring...

lik you, guys, i also have a lot of favorite quotes/verses from the bible, but this one is my favorite.....

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..." Jeremiah 29:11

when times get really tough, a catch-22 situation, and i'm caught off guard and helpless...and even when i have fear-of-the-unknown attack....i just think of HIM and this verse...

& then, i'll play this song from my collection:

God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see, He will make a way for me
He will be my guide, hold me closely to his side
With love and strength for each new day,
He will make a way, He will make a way...

By a roadway in the wildnerness He leads me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His words will still remain
He will do something new today."
