Hello, New to Japan, looking to make friends

Hello all this is my first post.

I am a Canadian who is new to Japan and I am trying to make some new friends. Some Filipino friends of mine suggested this site as a way to meet new people (unfortunately they are no longer in Japan) so I decided to give it a try. I have decided that after my contract here is finished I want to spend some time in the Philippines, so I am hoping to learn more about the country before I go.
