To All TF members,
I just want to share this experience with you and hope that somehow This will serve as a warning to all.
This afternoon, I went to the mall with my 2 half american kids. May lumapit sa amin na kunwarin ay namimigay sila ng product as form of advertisement dahil bago daw ang store nila. I told him that we were in hurry but he said that it's only going to take a minute, just go to the store and sign for the promotional product wich is an umbrella. Noong nandoon na kami sa store, he then showed us this AOWA cookware, and wanted to show some more, sabi ko nasaan na 'yong payong, so he said he is going to get it, tapos pumasok sa office. Medyo natagalan sya, then he said to open the umbrella to test if it is working. Noong binuksan ng anak ko, meron nahulog na papel, then he said that I have won something but he still needs to verify it. Tapos, bigla na lang lumapit 'yong mga sales associate at nag congratulate sa akin dahil, ako daw yong product endorser nila, anyway to make it short, they made me believe that I won 2 appliances totaling around 75,000.00 pesos but I have to purchase a product in order to get it. I was told that it was an on the spot offer and they will have to give the promo to someone else and that, lima lang daw sa whole Philippines ang maka avail ng ganoon. To make it short, they ran my credit card to the amount of 32,800 pesos for a foot massage. I left the store to go to eat, but did not take the products with me, after i ate I realize that I was taken, so I came home, to google search, AOWA appliances, and found out that this is an on going scam. Right now , my sister is helping me to cancel the transaction, but I am felling very stupid, considering this happen in front of my 2 foriegn kids, in our beloved Philippines .

parang scam nga yan sa malls. they'll say you won something big but in order to avail of it, you have to purchase a certain product from them.
meron din, they'll say you won a vacation package. catch naman, you have to buy the plane ticket from them (or something to that effect).
sorry for you loss sharja. and the bitter thing is, it happened here in the phils. pa.

someone posted there DTI's hotline 751-3330. sabi nila under close monitoring daw yung AOWA appliances pero yung thread last year pa and may updates pa hanggang ngayon.

hi sharja! sorry for riding in your thread. gusto ko lang magcomment pa uli dito sa pinost ni subaruchan about family first...

..siguro..you have to call the credit card company and cancell the purchase you made.
puede yata yun with your complete explanation and the back-up site sa internet na nabasa
mo...

very true. a good rule to live by. there's no such thing as free lunch diba.
kami ng nanay ko tig-100k naman pero in another incident. yung scam before na invest mo money mo then you'd get 4.5% per month. ayun first few moths ok. tapos before you know it bouncing na yung checks na binigay nila. tsk-tsk.
pasintabi na din. this is the same impression i have with networking. if their system is so perfect that one can earn so much from so little output then wala na sanang mahirap sa pinas. they could recuit as many tambay as they want. pautangin muna nila ng panimula contribution tutal mababawi naman nila yung intial output diba pero bat di nila magawa  sistemang corrupt. taking advantage of other people's hope of having better fortune.

thanks Ayumi,
I already called my credit card company because for 1 thing, hindi ko kinuha yong items, I came home and check on the internet about the product only to find out that it was scum.
Yes, fisher it is sad that a lot of our kababayan will go this low to make money.
Yeba,
It wasn't the thought of a free lunch that it hurts, it is the thought that there is no 'real law" that protect the consumer here.
Yes, DJchot, I need to clear my head to think the proper stragedy, for this not for me but for the sake of other people, so they won't feel so tanga like me, while the scummers are feeling so smart.

"ofc. staff txt this no." ako naman txt, then reply sya agad punta daw ako sa ofc nila located sa Phil.Stock Exchange sa may Ortigas Center, to take exam and interview. sa madaling salita nakapasa ako at pinababalik ako the ff. day for orientation at pag nakapasa sa orientation na yon sila ang magsasabi kung ano posistion ang nababagay sa akin. Siyempre pa bumalik ako, after the 3 hrs orientation and assesstment, buy ako ng health insurance for the good posistion.

sorry to hear that sharja! you're supposed to be on vacation tapos nabiktima ka pa ng mga ganitong MOs.
anyway, if you look at it, it's not totally a scam naman. it's just that these people force you to buy something against your will, na hindi dapat. this is some sort of blackmail selling! & yeah, i heard na under investigation ang AOWA.
yung family first, marketing strategy nila yun to sell their insurance plans...true! ang nakakainis dyan they will hold you as long as they can until you get pissed off & mawalan ng choice but to get a plan kahit wala kang kabalak-balak kumuha! na-invite na rin ako dito when they were still new, i was with my friend. kaso wala talaga kaming balak kumuha kaya wala silang nagawa! yun nga lang, we lost time and transpo cost papunta dun sa office nila.. kung alam lang namin...maganda kasi yung promotion kaya pinatulan namin...
haay! dcat is right, if you think it's too good to be true, more often than not, it is! sa panahon ngayon, there's no such thing as free!
actually, di lang po sa pinas ganyan. meron din po ganyan sa china...a friend of mine took a tour package & part of it is a trip to shensen, an economic area located between the border of HK and China. meron mga business establishments dyan. tapos yun pala dapat bumili ka ng kahit ano...ang nakakainis dito eh the travel agent does not disclose that information!
ganun talaga, minsan, lessons are learned the hard way!

Thanks to All!
Nakakatulong talaga to talk this thing over here, kahit nakakahiya that nangyari ito considering that I've been around.
Hi Great Barrier,
Tama ka, kahit saan, kailangan talaga ingat. Hindi pwede patanga tanga.
Thermometer, yong credit card company they still have to invistigate, kaya lang dahil nangyari yung transaction dito, it is better talaga sa source mangaling yong reversal. I know I can fight it with my bank for as long as it takes, but I also want this people to learn their lesson. The fact that they fraudulently presented me a sales pitch in front of my kids.
DJchot,
that is why, we fought to have the reversal done at AOWA store.
I still believe that there are free things. I've been lucky, like after the lion king movie, I went to this mall only because my car was being service accross the street, then pinakuha ako ng number, There was a drawing for prizes , I won the second prize which was the original lion king cell, then somebody offered to buy it from me for $300.00 this was in 1994, of course I still have the cell. Believe me, marami pa rin libre sa US.
