I just read this article (http://technology.inq7.net/infotech/infotech/view_article.php?art icle_id=7766) on the inq7.net website. A game developed in the Philippines by Filipinos. Will be shipping to the world soon!

Good Development para sa computer / gaming industry sa Pilipinas.
This is another chance for Filipinos to showcase skills and creativity. A very good development.
In addition, this though wouldnt be the first PC game originally created by Filipinos for international release. Maybe first in its genre. But some 3 - 4 years ago. A role-playing game (RPG) named ANITO debuted for PC. However the response to it in the gaming world isnt that good.
Interesting game with the characters named after local Filipino myth like Kapre, Tikbalang etc.
Here is their homepage. Anino Entertainment (http://www.aninogames.com/Anino/index.htm).

I sincerely hope for the success of the TERRAWARS. Honestly, I am not into PC games. But I will make this an exception and look forward to the release of this in Japan.:D

I hope they succeed also but I seriously doubt this game will sell. It is a first person shooter, wherein the player goes against aliens trying to take over the world. Half-life 2, HALO, Grand theft auto (and many more) have already set the standards for FPS, and this game has nothing new to offer. There are free indie and mod games that offer as much. I think they are going about it the wrong way. PC Games, especially in the US is a high stakes business. If you have nothing new to offer, chances for return of investment are nil. I am sure they are testing the waters, trying to see if they can just put together a game, but as they say, if its worth doing, why not do it right? First off, why go into FPS? that genre is so saturated that it is impossible to come up with new concepts to entice players. I would take nintendo's lead. they know they cannot compete with Microsoft and Sony hardware wise, so they just make games that are fun to play, affordable, and some are even educational. How hard is it to come up with a new plot? Aliens taking over the world? my gad. how original. How about tying in with a novel? or a movie. I know, cheap shot, but still better than aliens taking over the world. I hope they prove me wrong and become successful.
