I need help pls, I want to install yahoo msngr but it wont let me. " error occured while trying to connect to the server. This could occur if you do not have active internet connection or your proxy server setting are not valid." Eto po lumalabas sa screen, ok po internet connection ko and I don't have any idea about proxy server. Thanks in advance.

Panalangin ko’y you can successfully download Yahoo! Messenger and use it everyday and be addicted to it like I am.

I searched the web for you.
There are several possibilities.

Heto:
If you are using Windows 98, Yahoo Messenger is too heavy.
Better buy a less old computer. (But don't buy ME.)

It may be just that the connection was busy at that time.
Try again. (Pray before you try.)

If it's a run-time error, spywares may be causing it.
Scan the entire system and eradicate or quarantine all the spywares.
(Before that, update your anti-spyware or antivirus softwares, such as Adaware, AVG, avast!, Norton, MacAffee etc. )

It may be a so called "multi connection error".
Re-starting the modem may solve it.
(Put off the modem, wait 10 seconds, push reset button of the modem using ballpoint pen or something.)

Besides the above-mentioned possibilities, make sure your Windows and your browser(IE, Firefox, Netscape etc.) are updated.

From my experience, this may be due to a software firewall like Zone Alarm or Symantec, Windows' default firewall (mostly XP) or if your installing it inside company premises it maybe due to your company's firewall. Binoblock ng firewall yun mga ports na ginagamit minsan ng mga software kaya ganian.

~are you using a connection at work? could be that firewall is preventing you from doing so. :)

naka firewall yan for sure kung sa work ka magdadownload...ung mga packets palabas papuntang server ng yahoo e binablock ng router or firewall mo kaya walang pagasa na makapaginstall po

maarteng version yan YM mo... need mo lang close lahat ng applications like chikka and every other applications then try ko activate ur YM hahaha! danun lang yan
