Of course!
There are many Filipino professionals here in Japan.
There are teachers, researchers, engineers. Moreover, some work in the business and financial industry. But of course, none of them would show up to declare that they are. That's why sometimes, others don't know they exist.Or maybe, some would do.:)

-I am proud to be "PINOY" in Japan!!!-

It is an interesting way of putting job titles in some foreign financial institutions.
The VP does not denote the position right below the CEO or 社長. They put
such titles to technical positions. For whatever reasons, it will be an interesting
thing to know.

But I would also guess that the most number of Filipino IT professionals are in the foreign business sectors. Financials institutions and IT related businesses like hardware and/or software vendors.

The primary reasons for that are 1/ technical skills 2/ English language skill (some 3/ Japanese language skills). This is traditionally the area where many Filipinos have acquired skills back home.

A bit out of topic:
What I hope to see as trends into the future are Filipino professionals in whatever field of expertise they have, participating all over Japan. These means new skills - one of which is fluency in Nihongo, being acquired by our women who now live with their Japanese families.

みなさん、頑張ってください (minasan ganbatte kudasai).... It is also a key to an exciting life for you. Becoming fluent in Nihongo will give you lots of advantages, because you get to a close level to the Japanese regarding their language, and you will have advantages with your Filipino and English language skills as well as your broader views and experiences.

Maraming professionals tayong mga kababayan and we are proud of them, diba?

Madami yan for sure. Di lang sa Japan. Alam mo ang pinoy lagi nalabas ng bansa for "greener" pastures.
Doctor, Engineer, IT professionals, sa pinas na nga yata nagkakaroon ng shortage eh.
