sana nakatulong ako, pero wait ka pa rin sa ibang member. baka may iba pang translation sila. :)

The following is native-checked.

There are several Japanese words for "report"
Hokoku is something you do to your boss.
Repoto is something you do to your teacher.
Hodo is something a journalist does to its readers or audience.
Todoke is something you do to an office.

Hence, in the case of Report of Marriage、kon-in todoke(婚姻届) is the most appropriate term.

Kon-in and Kekkon are almost the same, but if you say kon-in, more emphasis is on the act of getting married and it sounds more authentic.

As for "Certificate of eligibility", uragaon is right.

I am not saying the translation of hotcake was wrong.
It is OK and easy to understand.
Because those were relatively easy Japanese that everyone can understand.
But sometimes jargons exist, and as translators of official documents, we must follow the established terms, even though most laymen don't know the difference.
