Bill eyed to make NHK fees mandatory

The government plans to introduce a bill next year to require all television viewers to pay fees to NHK, Internal Affairs and Communications Minister Heizo Takenaka said Friday.

The government should reach a conclusion on the issue by next spring and submit a bill to the Diet during its ordinary session, which usually lasts until June, according to a broadcasting reform road map presented by Takenaka at a news conference.

Matagal pa naman ito (possibility is next June). It would be interesting to know how a foreigner could fall into the category of "all television viewers":confused:. Kami, we are only using Sky and Perfect TV subscriptions. But I remember sometime ago in Hiroshima, the agent's only basis to insist collection is that the household owns a television set. But still we managed not to pay.

Personally, hindi kami nanonood ng NHK channels. Magiging unfair naman yata sa mga katulad kong hindi fan ng NHK programs kung sisingilin ka sa serbisyong di mo naman kailangan. Hindi ba mas maganda kung gawin nilang pay-per-view or subscription type na lang din ang kanilang channels?

sa totoo lang ayoko ring magbayad.

pero to be fair with them, hindi lang naman nhk programs yung included doon sa bayad, andoon na rin yung emergency info kapag may typhoon, lindol and other natural calamities. paborito rin nung anak ko yung morning tv programs nila like zenmai samurai, okaasan to issho, eigo de asobo, nihongo de asobo, and mahilig rin akong manood ng taiga drama - kaya medyo nag-aagam-agam rin akong magbayad minsan. though i used to pay before. and every now and then merong billing mail sa post ko from nhk.

hmm... para sa akin is much better kung pay per view or tumanggap na lang sila ng advertisement (CM).... kasi unfair din kasi sa mga hindi satisfied sa mga program nila.... maski ako yung NHK na channel is dinadaanan ko lang kung nag cha channel surf sa TV ..... :D

Kung talagang gusto nilang gawing mandatory, then they should just add the NHK fees to the price of the TV.

5-years depreciation ng TV
2,000 JPY for NHK every 2 months x 6 = 12,000 JPY per year


... e di idagdag na lang nila iyong 60,000 JPY sa price ng TV set.


Ngayon ang labanan naman between Sony, Panasonic, Sharp, Mitsubishi etc. vs. Gobyerno... which is how it should be. Sino pa bang bibili ng TV... lalagyan ko na lang ng TV Tuner iyong PC ko !

Hmm, I'm confused. As far as I know, NHK fees are still mandatory. Did something happen to change this? Since I arrived in Japan, hubby and I have been paying NHK their yearly fee (instead of the monthly para hindi mendokusai) ever since. Can somebody enlighten me please?
Maruchan, from what I was told, at the moment NHK can collect fees from the viewers but there is no fine nor penalty for not paying.

Maganda yung suggestion ni neblus a... kaya lang may compatibility issues ba itong tv tuners for pc's with HDTV broadcasts? :scratch:ma-research nga pag may oras..

Lumalabas na mas marami ang di sang-ayon sa bill. Pero kung maipapatupad, dapat pati yung mga sasakyan na may TV ay dikitan din nila ng NHK Stickers.

Kami po monthly nagbabayad ng NHK at first akala ko parang sky cable yun na binabayaran sa atin yun pala futso na terevi station ng nihon. Sabi ko sa asawa ko okashii naman kasi sa amin kung walang cable like sky or sun ay walang babayaran. Parang its a must mo for everybody na magbayad ng NHK. Bakit po kaya?:confused: Confused:confused:

magtatanong lang po regarding sa NHK fees

ibig po ba nyan sabihin lahat dpat mag bayad? kasi student lang po ako dito sa japan & nakatira po ako sa dormitory (real estate dormitory) & 1 year lang ako dto mag sstay pero may sariling t.v. ako sa room ko. pati po ba ako required na magbayad? pano po ba malalaman pag kailan ka dpat mag bayad? may monthly billing charges po ba sila na minemail?
