I wanted to know po what is the most economical way of sending a package within japan. Is there such a thing as no weight limit??? Reasonable ba yung size ng box?? Pls. do not confuse this to a moving company kasi hindi naman ako maglilipat ng bahay. gusto ko lang malaman if i can send frozen food, perishable goods, etc. na hindi kasing mahal ng padala ung postage.
Nga pala nagbasa ako dun sa Buy and Sell forum. Anyway sana you can give me ideas

hi eleina.
kung kuroneko yamato, dry takyuubin upto 2kg (size 60 box) starts at 740円, for cool or frozen takyuubin, add ka ng 200 yens i think. not sure though, nde ako familiar sa cool/frozen shipping charges.
Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Yamanashi
Miyagi, Yamagata, Fukushima, Nagano, Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui,Shizuoka, Aichi, Gifu, and Mie
Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Kyoto, Shiga, Nara, Wakayama, Osaka, and Hyogo
Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Tottori, and Shimane
Kagawa, Tokushima, Kochi, and Ehime
Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima
for small items like kasya sa EXPACK envelope, normally a piece of shirt, cd's, dvd's, makeup and docs lang ang pwedeng ilagay. anything basta A4 size at hindi bulky, Post Office's EXPACK is the best way to send 500円 nationwide at pwedeng i-track. EXPACK nde pwedeng i-combine with COD Service. Prepaid ang envelope.
same service like EXPACK, POST PACKET naman ang tawag, another service from Post Office, 400円 nationwide. ikaw ang bahala sa envelope just make sure na packing will conform sa dimension specified by post office. pwedeng i-combine with COD service.

hi Eleina!:)
most of the time sending your stuff at convenient stores will suffice, but since you want to send frozen stuff you have to use a special service. i've been to lots of wet markets in the provinces and sometimes when you buy there you could send your stuff to your family and friends anywhere in Japan. if that's not the way you'd like to do it, then you have to call or apply using the internet to a company providing those services.
one such company that is quite reasonable is Kuroneko Yamato (http://www.kuronekoyamato.c o.jp/index.html) (クロネコヤマト), and the name of their service for sending perishable goods is クール宅急便 (http://www.kuronekoyamato.c o.jp/cool/cool.html) (ku-ru takkyuubin). And the answer to your question is "no", there is no such thing as no weight limit, you could see for yourself the price list, but i guess you will agree that their prices are not that expensive.
to use this service you have to call them, and the conversation will most probably be in Japanese. You could go to this webpage (http://sneko2.kuronekoyamat o.co.jp/) and just click the ドライバー検索 link, enter your home postal number in the blank field and they will give you the number of the service center nearest to, and the package driver responsible at, your area. when you call, be sure to tell them what kind of package you want to send, that is, in this case ku-ru takkyuubin.
or you could do it in the net, but you have to register and get an I.D. first, the website is also in Japanese. here is the web address (http://www.kuronekoyamato.c o.jp/webservice_guide/shuka_off.html). Click the 新規登録 (無料) link to register a new I.D.
For your delight, this is the link (http://www.kuronekoyamato.c o.jp/services/shinamono.html) for all the package delivery services that they are providing.
goodluck and send some to us too.:D

very nice.
very informative.
but i would like to ask if this is also applicable sa magpapadala ng malalaking gamit?
i will be transferring na rin kasi in a few months from one place to another place within japan.
di naman masyadong marami ang gamit ko. mostly damit and other small items
lang... pinakamalaki is yung flat bed or futon.
how long will it take?
or if there is some alternative, i really appreciate it kung ma-ii-share nyo...

salamat po in advance:)

based on my experience 600yen ang pinakamura kong binayaran sa yupack, shoe-box size or mas maliit pa doon basta sa pagkakaalam ko 600 ang minimum fee for yupack (not sure)..
but if you are to send a small item...better have it sent thru futsu nalang...mas makakamura pa ka...;) yun nga lang hindi traceable ang futsu at tsaka no time specification..:)
