TF mina san,

I have a question regarding nenkin, If you happen to know a website regarding these matter please tell me, I will greatly appreciate it.

Im presently working as teaching assistant and at same time on my post doctoral course in a private institute, I am married to a japanese, my wife told me that in japan japanese are required to pay their pension for 25 years, but my visa is not permanent resident my status was still "married to a japanese spouse" for a year and a half.

My question was do I have to pay the desired amount for the pension to catch up for the quota amount to pay, even my visa status was spouse of jap. national?

How about the tax im paying for, the one they cut-off every month.

Am I oblidge to apply for the national pension system? like the hokensyo...

Thanks in advance,

friley

Here is the English website:
http://www.sia.go.jp/e/np.html

If you cannot find the answers to your questions there, you can inquire directly at Social Insurance Agency (社会保険庁). You can find the contact info here:
http://www.sia.go.jp/sodan/madoguchi/shaho/index.htm

The second link above is in Japanese only. If you don't understand just ask your wife for help. :)

Thank you CSbaby, pakiramdam ko lolo na ako sa pag response mo, because of the "po", I appreciate your response. Just want to know the ins and outs of the national pension, because my future plan might be different.

friley
