Hi everyone-

I have been reading all the problems of the many OFWorkers here in Japan,
like sending money back home to your families, and other "nayamis".

Here is my first suggestion -
What if you let me compile all "your sama nang loob" - like you send them all to me by email... like if you are writing to your family... of course using different names or aliases -
Anyway- just a thought- anybody want to share your letter - address it to -
Dear City ; ) - and send me an email through TF.

I hope we can lots of letters - any topic - to make a book -
or maybe a documentary....(alth ough I cannot promise on this...)

I will compile all these data - and send it to a publication - or a newspaper - or to some press people friends at home.... and see if we can have it published or printed somewhere....

Why? I think we have to educated the Filipinos back home - and that includes all the families of the OFWorkers...

They think- people in Japan = Money....
But they do not know the hardships that come with every single yen you send back home...

The Philippines needs education - we have to make them aware -
why don't we write a book?

I have a background in research- and communication -
we can make it a real documentation...

who knows eventually - maybe a documentary?
Maybe my few friends in the media would be interested?
I cannot promise, but I can ask them.
(By the way, my other job is film-tv coordinator)

Awareness - that is what the Filipino family needs - in the process, you as the OFW will be more appreciated...

--- to make it short ---
my first proposal - let us gather data - make a book, then later maybe a documentary for t.v.

---- if we do have enough materials --- I will post the next steps and the next proposal... for this exciting project.

But in the meantime, I will wait for your response - then take it from there.

I think this is a good idea!

If they will be informed about what is really going on, with CLARITY, like a book and a detailed documentary, it might make a difference. Their apathetic and cynical attitudes might change into a loving, caring character. :)

good idea ... sama ako diyan

i had a suggestion

the easiest way to gather data is to make questionaire about the facts you wanted to know, or making a poll, every active willing members will surely share their answers and participation, puwede din i print out ang questionaire then pass it to our filipino neighbors and let them sign.

Acutally kung maghanap ka sa Forum na ito madami ka nang makikita. May mga super haba na threads dito at di ka mauubusan ng material. Pwede ka sigurong magumpisa doon.

Thanks - I thought no one was interested.

The book or compilation of experiences can help educated the Filipinos back home. To make them appreciate all of their family members who are abroad working hard to send them money etc....

This is for the positive side of it, for awareness...

This thread has been here for so long but thanks to you... it is alive again.

I even already forgot what this was about... :)

Who knows, if the book sells- we can donate it to the less fortunate or help the less fortunate back home...

Anyway, that is the next step...

Thanks guys -

Thank you guys- I have not started on anything else because I became busy.
But the plan is still here.
I have to make the questionnaires, and do a lot of research.
This is no joke. This thing needs a lot of planning and a lot work. To make an informative and very interesting work - needs a lot of time too and it requires a lot of sacrifice... when I am ready... I will make my first step..

Will keep you posted...

Another suggestion

I agree with goldhorse. Since we already had the same topic and also from other sites/forum/blog/yahoo bulettin board, etc. You can basically start from there. PM directly those people to share some of their inner feelings, problems, pressure, resentments on those matters. Filling/sorting wise mas madali I guess, at direct ang target topic na gusto mo. Just ready your printer with time & date, and folders.

Good Luck

this is a good idea, but i think book is not the best medium wherein we can broadcast our theme to the philippines. kasi kukunti na siguro nagbabasa ng libro sa atin. lalo na iyong mga parents sa atin. bihirang bihira na ko makakita ng isang nanay or tatay na nagbabasa ng libro.

i've seen some some documentary which are related to your plan. i just forgot the channel. last last year pa ata iyon. maybe someone also watched it. the documentary is made by a chinese journalist. babae po sya. she made a documentary about chinese people here who are living here with a lots of problem. 3 characters ata ang ginamit nya. and she documented this 3 persons life style here. iyong sa bata, she documented her schooling here, kung paano sya nakipag salamuha sa mga batang hapon, then pati iyong sa mga parents nya. after she finished her documentary, nakipag usap sya sa ilang tv broadcasting sa china to air the documentary, at first walang masyadong pumapansin sa kanya. but luckily meron ding pumayag and when her documentary broadcasted, it become a top rating. laging inaabangan ng mga chinese yong next issue nong mga character na involve. it become a social issue at maraming chinese daw ang natauhan. then pati iyong gumawa ng documentary which is just a plain employee become a shachoo. nag build sya ng sariling company.

so, i think also better to make a documentary na pwedeng ibroadcast sa pinas na magiging parang tele-nobela. the story is real, kaya i think magiging top rating din sa atin. its better to watch it than any tele-novel. maraming pinoy siguro matatauhan sa atin sa pinas.

just my idea, it will be top but i think we will achieve what will be our goal.

Yes, thanks for that idea... if you saw my title, I really want to make a documentary... that would really need to be a nice one so we can market it in the Philippines.

If not a docu, a tele-series. I can ask some people I know...
Wait, I think I have to push this idea I had long ago...

What are my friends in the movie world for?

Striver and all , I have to call my friends - will keep you posted.

ive also watched on that documentary na maaga nagigising iyong mga member or ang buong staff nila. inaabangan talaga nila iyong paglabas ng character nila ng bahay, pagpunta ng work po, hanggang densya. so it think it will not be a joke kung ipopursue natin. plan the detail city_rab, im in. kita ulit tayo sa church po pag nagsimba ka.

Sounds like a good project.
Book or documentary - either will be good.
eBook also.

Ang unti ng nga mga aklat na published or written sa atin.
Mas marami pa yata akong Japanese books kesa sa mga binili
kong Filipino books.

Puro English books siguro tayo. Books, being written with lots
of thinking, studies, analyses, which means involving 'intelligence'.
May business side din yan, as we all know. Every jobs involved with
most of the books we buy are in those already progressive countries,
Japan included.
