I just want to share with you my bad experience with Philippine National Bank (Tokyo Branch) about their remittance service.

Last October 23, 2006 (Monday) I used their remittance service for the first time. I received their Memorandum for Remittance October 26, 2006 (Thursday) I noticed that there was a mistake with the beneficiary account number I reported it to them the same day and the person whom I talked with admitted that the mistake is on their part. I told them to make the correction as soon as possible since the beneficiary account number is my checking account in the Philippines and I told them that it is urgent because I issued a cheque dated November 3, 2006. I waited for their call for confirmation if they fixed the problem but no sign of anything. I was the one who called them for many times asking and begging them to fix the problem.

I don't deserved to be treated like this I pay for their service. I am very disappointed about the service of PNB Tokyo Branch. I am just wondering how many OFW like me be treated like this with our own bank. For now I just prefer the service of other bank rather than PNB no wonder their service is cheap because they can not give you good service.

As I'm writing this letter Im still waiting for the PNB Tokyo Branch for their confirmation if they tranfer correctly my remittance. And take note the date today is November 1, 2006 it is obviously holiday in our country and by November 3 2006 its holiday here in Japan. You guessed it right I will have a bouncing cheque my other bank will penalized me and the person whom I issued the cheque will get mad at me. See, and whose fault? :(

Usually, bank transfer cant be completed without verifying if the account name and number as well as the bank branch doesnt match the details provided by the remitter. Anyhow, if PNB really did a mistake with this transaction it needs lot of effort in your side to complain may it be over the phone or through letter. Make sure to forward it on the proper person to handle this problem and demand an urgent reply. But I believe this requires some times to fix it coz they need to trace and retrieve the fund to where it was wrongly deposited.

I will have a bouncing cheque my other bank will penalized me

Nangyari na rin sa amin ang mahuli ang dating ng remittance...and we called them in UK take note sa amin pa nakacharge. And told them the person hasnt received the money. And of course merong silang mga dahilan. But their reasons are not an excuse. They should have done what they were supposed to for they were paid for it and they agreed with the terms. But you can argue with that the whole day with the office employee in the end dehado ka pa rin. So i suggest that you talked to the same person you talked to. And if you cant get a positive response then talk to his authority. Maybe his boss or maybe his boss's boss. He could be here in japan or he could be in the philippines. Make sure to raise the point that due to this inconvinience you are suffering a loss and they should compensate for it since it was incurred due to them and their unreliable service. Also make clear to them the amount you need for compensation. And you must have him agree to the amount.

This is what happened sa amin so it lang ang maipapayo ko sayo. Sana it works out:)

sad experience Mikan san,
I'm a PNB user eversince.So far,so good.
But a month ago,I requested a cheque book,
I already sent my payment of 3,000yen by genkin kakitome for the 2 cheque book
but I never heared any reply until now.
I already called one week after I send my payment.
I just remembered again today because of your thread.
I have to call tomorrow for follow-up on my book request.

Bank transactions is really very important,
that you must be answered as fast as they could.

@mikan1227
i am sorry to hear about the trouble that you had with PNB.

i have been banking with them for over 6 years and i didnt experience any problem.

call them again today and inquire if the problem is fixed. also, dont you have access to your account online? i access mine online kasi to check movement of funds.

@ayumi
i also order my checkbooks from pnb tokyo. it takes 2 months to process. unlike you, i always opt for 'charge my account' when requesting for new checkbooks. i just send PNB post stamps worth 500 yens so that they can forward the checkbooks to me when it reached them. i never had the need to call them to follow up the status.

just sharing ...

mikan1227-san,

i pay my suppliers via T/T (telegraphic transfer) 6000 yens, and kuha din nila within the day kasi they confirm na na-receive nila. complete details ang binibigay ko, at saan bangko dapat idaan. sa SMBC nga 4000 yens lang.

....keep your fingers cross, maaayos din yan.Godbless you.:)

ka-e-encash lang nya Dec.2 less than 10,000.
kinakabahan tuloy ako baka magsara, makukuha ba yung pondo?

I have some few cases sa PNB Tokyo... Like account opening and other things..
but if you will trace .. kung ano talaga ang problema.. ay hinde Tokyo PNB

I know PNB Tokyo try to improve the system but since most of the time naka rely ito sa Pilipinas kaya wala po magawa..

Just like my case here in Japan..

the same nangyari sa akin

since nasa abroad ako at hindi rin na a update ang interes or balance

pag uwi ko , pag update ko wala ng naiwan sa account ko as in kinaltas nila every month

kasi wala na sa minimum remaining balance.

imbes tumubo nawala lang

sobra silang kumaltas

hahahaha:biglaugh::b iglaugh::biglaugh:.. .hindi ko napuna yung year...akala ko this year lang...hahahaha:bigl augh::biglaugh:

I also called Pnb,Philippine branch...OK naman,malinaw ang explanation
