Hi there - computer wizards - help me - I am using a Powerbook G4 right now, but still on system 9.2.2.

I want to up-grade to system 10. I tried it once with a system 10 installer from a friend... but my computer always "froze" - so I un-installed in again... my brother said, my memory is not enough...

But I do not understand really all those stuff... please advise me, what do I need to have this up-grade to system 10. Anyone out there - please - I would appreciate your advise... the City wants her computer on System 10...

arigato gozaimasu. Yoroshiku.

were you able to install OS X? or did your powerbook freeze while installing it?

here (http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements.html) are the system requirements for OS X. since you have a PB G4, it should be ok. which version of OS X did you install? how did you install it? did you do a clean install, archive and install, or upgrade? is the install disk you used a retail OS X or part of the system disk set of another mac?

sorry for all the questions, but i need the info to be able to help you. or you can also browse and ask around at PinoyMac (http://www.pinoymac.org) or PhilMUG (http://www.philmug.ph).

Thanks Paul. I used an install disk from another friend's soft...
Then, each time I restarted- it just froze and some files I could not see.

Anyway, I will check out the requirements.

Hi City_Rabbit, no worries.

Hindi pa rin ako persuaded to change one of my desktops to a Mac. Siguro hintayin ko iyong mga Intel processors nila and maybe it would allow me to run all my Windos apps in Mac.

Main problem with Mac --- sharing files with non-Mac users which I do a lot. Sometimes it works and minsan hindi. If it is a file you are trying to share with a business partner, okay lang. But if it is a file you are trying to share with a client, can not afford one miss - especially in Japan.

Happy Sundays...
