A Japanese man shared his view to me on this news.
I don’t know if the following is true or not.
But it seems at least some people around me think it that way. (Zuzu shi hitotachi dayo ne, one of them said.)
I felt these people are still Chinese to ordinary Japanese.
He hopes the case should go to the High Court.
Because he thinks;
Paying money as the district court said is not the best way to spend taxpayer’s money, considering the background of all these 65 people.
Millions of people were killed or died in that war.
How come the court granted such a lot of money only to those people in the news?
One feels a lack of gratitude and lack of efforts in their attitudes.
Just demanding money without making efforts to cope with the situation, or trying to speak Japanese well in the first place.
Most of them are under welfare. (Seikatsu hogo)
How come they weren’t killed, how come they could come back to Japan?
“War displaced” or “left behind,” sounds beautiful. (Euphemistic words)
The truth was that their parents participated in invading China, either as military, railways building or farmers.
Then as the resistance got stronger and Japan was sure to be defeated, or after it was defeated, they abandoned their homes and headed back to Japan.
In that process, carrying small children along the way meant death to everyone, or at least the Child would not survive the long journey.
In some cases the parents died in the process.
Thus the kids or babies were “left behind” and the Chinese around them adopted these kids and raised them, rather than killing the kids.
They should thank the Chinese family and the Japanese government to pay all the money to come back to Japan.
Lack of gratitude. Just demanding money. (End of what he said)
