japantimes The number of foreign students in Japan fell to 117,927 this year -- the first decrease in nine years -- but the figure was still the second-highest after a record 121,812 last year, according to a survey the Japan Student Services Organization released Wednesday. Chinese students formed the largest group, at 74,292, down 7.8 percent from the previous year, as of May 1. The academic year starts April 1. Read more...
