It may sound odd for some but Christmas is fixed in Japan as annual observance. Although they aren't Christians, they sometimes spend the day exchanging presents and eating Christmas cakes... not to mention mang kentucky too.. :D

in my experience, yes, christmas is being observed in japan, although not in a very festive way. that's why we filipinos who happen to spend christmas there more often feel homesick just thinkin' about how we spend christmas day in the philippines. maybe what really makes the entirety of it different is that christmas in japan is white and a quiet celebration for most of them. but not for us filipinos and some other gaijins who are in japan. as much as we would like to make it a joyful one, we celebrate it the "pinoy style". being filipino makes the difference. we couldn't just let christmas pass without the usual celebration.....midn ight mass, noise, fun, joy, exchanging gifts, noche buena with the whole family, foremost...family reunions. what joy there is!!!:)
