Yeah, I think it's really cheap as compared to Docomo & AU. With the price of around 2,000 yen (980 yen + Packet hodai (980 yen)) you got the following.

1. Free call to Softbank cellphone (1am to 9pm)
2. Free mail to Softbank cellphone
3. 12,250 packet of internet access

If you are using other carriers, with the above contents the price is around twice or more compared to Softbank.

I'm thinking of changing carriers to Softbank in March but, if AU introduces the same price scheme I might well stay with AU. And one more thing, I didn't inquire about the price of the cellphone unit.

I checked the price of the unit and yes, you have to pay for the unit in monthly terms. For example, the unit price of the latest Nokia 705NK (N73) is 470 yen/month (2 yrs contract) or 1,750 yen/month (18-month contract).

Well, I think the total monthly fee is around or less than AU/Docomo. And think of the free calls between Softbank users, I think this new scheme is "good".

Just got a new Softbank unit 910 SH.:)
Inaplay namin yung White Plan na 980,ang sistema eh for two years babayaran yung unit which is 3000 yen monthly then 980 yen yung plan.Try lang namin ng hubby ko kung ok yung sistema nila as of now AU user din kase kami at di pa namin pinaka-cut.
Naengganyo lang kase ako sa features ng 910 SH 50 mega pixel kase yung pang kuha ng picture then yung hubby ko 911 SH, gusto kase nya yung may TV and it was great parang Aqous sa linaw yung tv nya at libre pala yun,kala ko may bayad pag nanood ng tv sa keitai.;)I just hope na marami pa akong mabasang feedback dito sa thread ni Mr.Goma! thanks po !:)

@guy 26, pwedeng-pwede mong i-convert yung existing plan mo sa whiteplan. kahapon lang ganyan ang ginawa namin ng asawa ko, may pinirmahan lang at ang effectivity ay sa February 11. maganda ang bagong offer nila, murang-mura at mas practical para sa amin kasi kami lang naman ng asawa ko ang nagtatawagan.:p

maybe too i am just so unlucky enough my 705sh has a defect. im not sure though if it is the carrier or just the network when everytime i call or somebody calls me, my phone automatically shuts down or it hangs up!

i was about to inquire a new carrier but then i thought the phone has a 2 year contract which cannot be replaced.

Yong sinasabi ni tfcfan na 3000yen per month is yong payment mo for the unit which i think nasa 72000yen.
The monthly basic fee is 980yen/month plus your monthly payment for the unit. This depends on the price of the unit but you are allowed to pay it "bunkatsu" sa kaya mo , hwag lang lalampas ng 2 years.Medyo may kamahalan lng yong mga units nila. If you will pay naman the unit in cash ,okey rin , KAYA lng this scheme has a MUST. You have to use this whiteplan for 2 years ,di ka pa pwedeng huminto pag di pa natatapos yong 2 year contract.
Doon sa 980/month the basic fee may 315yen/month doon na plus for after maintenace daw.
If you are already a vodafone user tapos you want to avail the whiteplan pwede din naman even you will use your old unit...YON lang 2 year contract pa rin. For softbank users okey ito kasi nga libre ang usage ninyo...medyo "inconvenient" lang for me yong 2 year contract.

Mahal naman ng 3,000 yen for a unit only. I checked with Yodobashi camera and Softbank website, kapag nag-apply ka ng "New Super Bonus" the original 3,110 yen/month unit price will have a 2,280 yen/month discount, thus 830 yen/month na lang ang babayaran mo sa unit price. At ang iba pang benefits ng "New Super Bonus" ay 2 months free basic fee + 2 months free unlimited packet & others.

Basicall ang babayaran mo for 910 SH ay the following :
1. Basic fee (white plan) = 980 yen/month
2. Unit price (mentioned above) = 830 yen/month (with New Super Bonus 24 months)

Total = 1,810 yen/month

Well, I guess the 3,000 yen/month you mentioned is pertaining to unit price plus other services like "Unlimited Packet".

Medyo complicated ang computation ng Softbank but, once na marinig mo ang expanation directly from the seller ay magiging clear price ng mga babayaran mo.:)

Sabi ng hubby ko yung 3000 yen monthly(for 910 SH unit) eh kasama na pala dun yung 980 yen na plan so for two years ganun yun, then yung first month lang ang may dagdag na 2000 yen gurai for "jibun tesuuryo".Pasensya na po kung mis informed kayo sa napost ko kanina. :bowdown:
