Try to look for a tourist information center in your area. Madalas katabi ito ng ticketing office sa train station. Kapag wala kang makita, punta ka sa city hall at sigurado mabibigyan ka ng mapa, libre.

Using romaji roadmap is a good start.

Meron ding nga lang yang downside. As you drive, you will notice
that many street signs / names are in the usual Japanese
writing - kanji and kana.

Learning the names in kanji and kana can be a good goal
after you get familiar with your routes in romaji.

Meron na po ako ng galing sa city hall pero very limited lang yong area na covered, Kahit na yong mismong city namin ay hindi buong kita sa map... What I need is yong detailed map talaga...

Thanks for the good advise d_southpaw san!
... but being new in this place, it would really be a hard time for me to read kanji and/or kana... for the meantime, I had to familiarize w/ the romaji version first then try to memorize the japanese version too... but maybe it would take time before I could do that...:)
