Iam a non working housewife and my husband pays a huge percentage of his salary to tax. The thing is because my husband is living here for more than five years, lahat ng income nya whereever in the world will be taxed in japan according to the new law..as i understood it.

Ang point ko is dahil hindi ako nagwo-work, i have no Income Tax. Kung ipapangalan ba sa akin ng asawa ko ang mga investments/businesses namin abroad, will that income still be taxed?

yung income ba from your investments/businesses abroad pinapadala sa bank account nyo dito sa japan?

even if na ipangalan sa yo ang income from various investments/businesses abroad, you still have to pay tax if such income is sent to you here in japan. also, you may want to check visa issues. if you are married and having a dependent visa, you are not allowed to engaged in activities other than previously granted. you need to get a permit from immigration. however, if your husband is a permanent resident holder, you dont need a permit.

also after getting the permit, your monthly income should be kept in a minimum of 120,000 a month. this way, halos wala kang binabayaran na tax at still considered as dependent ng husband mo. if your income reaches 120,000+ per month. automatic hindi ka na qualified na dependent ng husband mo, which means tataas ang tax na binabayaran nya. at required ka na kumuha ng sarili mong insurance since hindi ka na po dependent sa husband mo. plus you pay income taxes and municipal taxes from these income.

so i-calculate mo po, if yung total income per year will still be less than 1.44 million per annum. pwede siguro sa yo ipangalan (taxable pa rin po yan). hindi ko alam kung mabibigyan ka ng permit sa ganitong case.

If your income from investments/business abroad ay hindi naman pinapadala sa Japan. Hindi kayo required na magbayad ng tax at hindi rin kailangan i-declare na income. Kung pinadala sa inyo dito ang income you have to declare and pay taxes.
