Hi to all,
I'm new here in Japan. I just came last week & because of the cold weather I already have cough & cold. Also have tonsilitis now. Can somebody help me how & where can I buy medicines for those ailments. I'm working here at Tsurumi, Yokohama. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hullo cinderella_m :)
Please make yourself warm and comfortable here at Timog Forum.
Usually, you could buy medicines for colds at any drug stores (yakkyoku), drug stores usually do not only sell medicines, they also sell cosmetics, toiletries, and many others..
Please visit any of these kinds of stores near your place and ask for "kazegusuri" or medicines for colds. I don't know if they will sell it to you without a doctor's prescription, but i guess they would. (I'm not really sure since I haven't bought nor took cold medicine in all my years here in Japan)
However, I'm afraid it's better for you to visit a clinic somewhere near your place for you to be able to buy medicine for the particular illness you have (tonsilitis). It's also better to consult a doctor so that you would get the most appropriate medicine for you case. I hope you get well soon. Odaijini. :)

Kaze kusuri- for colds
Seki kusuri- for cough
Netsu kusuri- for fever
Hana mizu no kusuri- for runny nose
Get well soon!

Kahit po walang prescription basta kazegusuri nagbibigay po sila
kazegusuri (nodonoitami)- for the meantime bili po muna kayo ng gamot.
And don't forget to ask "nomikata", kung ilang tablet/capsule per kai then nankai per day.
Sa panahon ngayon...bawal magkasakit:D

hi cinderella_m
counter.
take care and get well soon!
