Payong kaibigan lang po sa mga Ka-TF, kung sa tingin nyo hindi pa kayo ready for a big changes for such computer software, mag-XP na lang muna kayo until such time maging stable sya and worth to buy for you... tandaan lang po natin na mahal ang license na binili nyo at kung ibabalik din sa Windows XP dahil nahihirapan kayo e nagsayang lang po kayo ng kaperahan. :)

I am using window's vista since nov. last year maganda sya kay sa windows xp security mabigat kaya hindi tayo mag aalala sa mga anak natin na gumagamit ng pc dahil hindi sila basta nakakapag download ng hindi nila dapat makita sa pc dahil double check talaga ang security ng vista :) mahal nga lang pero secured naman ang pc mo :)

No driver support during installation, however the first update you run will download the driver and get your sound working correctly. :)

Welcome po sa TF , When you buy any New Release Software especially if it is a Microsoft
Product always expect there are lot of BUGS included.

Kung mag papalit ka lang naman sa Vista just for the sake masabi na gumagamit kna nito
medyo malabo po para sa akin ang ganyan reason.. since bagong OS it for sure marami ang incompatibiliy sa hardware and Software ..kung bibili kna nag license ng Vista pra skin pag paliban mo nalang at mag palipas ng ilang buwan.bago mag decide kung bibili nito o hinde kung meron ka naman EXTRA na PC na puede pag testingan don mo nalang itest ang feature kesa mag re-install ka sa current mo ngayon.

Always think din na Since this a New OS . mabigat din ang Hardware Requirements nito sa ating PC although puede naman icustomize ang feature what for pa kung nag Vista ka d ba kung hinde mo magagamit ang full feature nya dahil ang HArdware mo Low Specs.

@lisa143 thanks ha! @ kiddosin, kung saan ka gamay at saan ang kaya ng budget doon ka syempre,pero kung bibili ka rin lang dapat mataas na ang spec.para hindi ka na kailangan mag-up grade, iba talaga ang mabibilis na pc kesa sa uugod-ugod na computer kahit ba sabihin mo na surfing,music at recording lang ang hobby mo!pustahan tayo? @ Father thermo tumpak ka dyan, alam mo may solution naman ako sa sa problems ko sa Vista at purpose ko talaga na mapag-usapan din natin dito ang maaaring maging problema ng ating future Vista user dito sa TF dahil hindi maglalaon at marami na rin sa atin dito ang mag-uupgrade ng kanilang pc!tEKA GO TO WORK ULI AKO!:)

naku ganun ba? ang asawa ko kase lastweek nagpalit ng VISTA at eto naman...ngayon ako naman ang kinukulet na palitan yung saken.. magpalit narin daw ako pero di ko pa ginagawa kase matagal kase at ginagamit ko laptop ko so di ko magawa~gawa...pero teka panget ba ba talaga sya? kase kung di maganda ay di na ako magpapalit!:p

This was a mistake from MICROSOFT , which was later revised during their packaging in WINDOWS XP , I first thought they refer on PHYSICAL CPU , but they are referring actually on CPUs which have "DUAL PROCESSORS" on it, hence if your system is running on dual processor, you dont need another license.

It also applies on WINDOWS VISTA, remember that OEM versions of Operating System dies with the PC , meaning , if your OEM powered PC , had some problems, like crashes on Motherboards, Processor, you will be required a new set. but if you can still get the same specs of the defective part, no need to acquire new license. So pag talagang hopeless na yung pc mo , and you will buy a new PC , hindi na applicable yung OEM mo don, that is why, M$ recommends premium versions (FPP-full packaged products). para transferrable siya sa kahit anong pc (you cannot also use it simultaneously)

Another thing to consider before jumping to WINDOWS VISTA , is its current support on legacy hardwares (old hardwares), unlike windows xp , most of the drivers were detected, but I had seen complaints that some of the old USB thumb drives cannot be detected properly.

Usually, it would take around 3-5 months before manufacturers create a software driver to be compatible with windows vista, since the current kernel structure (core system) of windows vista is not as easy as windows xp.

TEchnically speaking ang USB ay ni-design para sa HOT Swapping ng devices
kaya puede mo hugutin nalng ang devices mo.. pero kung ang devices mo na USB ay External HArd Disk mas adviceable na patayin mo sya sa switch nya bago mo hugutin.

Kung wireless LAN or Mouse naman na USB puede mo na sya hugutin .agad

before we start to get "too technical" here, let us be aware that most of the users who ask questions are not "techie". so it is better we inform them using layman's terms than to confuse them more.

tanungin na lang natin si camouflage kung retail or oem version yung copy nya ng windows xp. kung oem, hindi pwede sa ibang machine since bundled sya sa old machine. kung retail, e pwede sa ibang machine kasi stand-alone software sya.

In my current part-time job, I may have already installed around more than 50 Vista Ultimate versions. Vista looks better, but it has many bugs that we are still figuring out. The thing about Microsoft OSes like Vista and XP is that they have so many versions of consumer OSes, this tends to confuse people. But of course this is a marketing strategy for overly profit-oriented company.

Vista will run ok in most CPUs, but it will need at least 1gigs of memory to run reasonably fine with full functionality. I read a question posted here asking whether to buy a Mac or a PC running Vista - all I could say is why not make your life easier and buy a Mac. You could buy a Mac with OS X, and use the operating system installer in any Mac computers you have, and you get the full version of the operating system - the same OS X that everybody uses, (except server administrators). ;)

anyway, i was readin through some articles about vista and for people who wanna save money and get value for their money, i'd say stick to your current OS and wait for mac os x leopard and windows vienna (end of 2009 (http://www.windowsvienna.co m/)) .

microsoft says vienna will have a new gui...i'm not sure though if it would be an os x copy but it will be shipped only in 64-bit versions.

microsoft said it will have another type of gui (vienna) so that's why i've mentioned that i'm not sure if it's a copy of mac os x as well, which is quite evident with windows vista.

So what's turning people off of Vista? Here's my take, in order of importance:
1) Price. There's no way around this one. Upgrading to Vista doesn't just mean spending up to $400 on software, but also cash on RAM and video card upgrades, or buying a new PC altogether. If Vista was a $100 upgrade that anyone could use, it'd be a top seller, I'm sure.
2) Nothing new to see here. Love the visual style, but does photo tagging and 3-D window flipping really merit an upgrade?
3) It's annoying. I don't know any Vista user who hasn't turned off User Account Control, which nags you with an "Are you sure????" prompt every time you try to do anything beyond run the calculator. Yet UAC is the linchpin of Vista's vaunted new security system. Without it, it's really no different than XP.
4) Tons of stuff is incompatible with Vista. An acquaintance of mine got a new PC with Vista preinstalled. Neither her scanner nor her printer had Vista drivers ready. Both peripherals cost several hundred bucks, and now they're essentially paperweights (though the printer, at some unforseeable time in the future, may work again). Lots of software won't run on Vista, either, but it's the hardware incompatibilities that are daunting. (Update: Looks like the scanner driver's finally ready.)

5) It's confusing. Everything that XP could do, Vista can do... only it's buried under a different menu and it has a new name. While average users probably never use many of these settings, power users have found themselves starting from scratch to relearn Windows.
6) It's busted. Try connecting to a printer on your network that's hooked up to an XP machine. Or try downloading a file with a third-party application and then accessing it via another PC on the network. Kung karareho naming kinakalikot ang setting at pinipili ang performance kaysa sa "eye candy" ay sa tingin ko kung ako ang gagamit ng vista ay malamang magmukhang Win 98 dahil yung EP ko ay naka set na parang Win 98 at walang burloloy. Mabilis ang performance yun nga lang ay baduy...

nagawa ko na ding subukan sa XP yung cam at napagana ko naman.....(nalilito pa din ako kasi kung napagana ko e di walang problem naman din yung cam....) pero pag dito sa vista ko sinubukan e ayaw nga gumana.......salamat sa inyo....thanks talaga.:)

Be aware that TF is open, and if authorities see your posts and asked for your IP Address, I think TF management will be forced to give yours up. Just a warning, so you'll be be on the safe all the time.

Ok yung advice tungkol sa AGP or PCI based graphic cards. Pero outdated yung 64MB na statement. According to the authors of two very well-written books about Windows XP and Windows Vista, Inside Out (http://www.amazon.co.jp/Microsoft-Windows-Vista-Inside-Out/dp/0735622701/ref=sr_1_1/249-1010041-5162739?ie=UTF8&s=english-books&qid=1177080797&sr=1-1), you need at least 128MB of on board memory to run the AERO interface, but Vista could still run without fulfilling that requirement - of course it depends on other criteria. Windows Vista is not like any other Windows version, it is very different from its predecessor, XP. It has been reconstructed from the ground up, and it has many advances not available in the previous MS operating systems. It is without a doubt better than XP in security, looks, and file system management, it is just that it is still in development, meaning those who presently use Vista are in effect beta tester of an OS that is still being debugged as we speak.

The minimum memory requirement for Vista is just 512 MB, that's quite insignificant when we think of cheapness and availability of RAM these days. My PowerBook bought 4 years ago has 1.25GB of memory! ;) If we think about the inherent insecurity and outdated file management of XP - not to mention how ugly it is - I'd settle for Windows Vista. And you guys should buy enough memory anyway since more memory enable you to use more applications at the same time.

But if you guys are having so much problems with Windows why not leave it all behind and buy an Apple computer with Mac OS X - the most advance operating system in the planet and the one that Vista wants to become. I promise you won't regret it, you could even install Vista if you really have to. :D

It's quite a long read, but you'd understand how Vista is far more superior than XPee. :D

We were pretty nervous about it in the beginning, but it went well after all.

Oo, VMware ang ginagamit kong virtual machine to run Windows sa loob ng Linux FreeSpire. OK naman ang performance at madaling paglaruan ang loob dahil nga kitang-kita ang bituka pero medyo mabagal nga lang ng konti pero hindi naman masyadong halata dahil medyo sprinter ang ginagamit kong PC at nahahalata lang ang time lag pag marami akong binubuksan ng programs tulad (ex: firefox+VLC+utorrent +Open Office+at kung anu-ano pang kababalaghan :D ) pero kung email at internet at VLC lang ay di halata ang time lag. Sa tingin ko ay well contained din ang viruses at spywares sa loob ng virtual machine at kung kailangan kalikutin ang programs ay madaling buksan :D

Paborito ko pa rin ang Mac at Windows dahil pareho namang mahuhusay na OS at meroong mga bagay sa isang OS na wala sa isa diba, kaya lahat sinusubukan :D si misis at anak ko ay pinalipat ko na sa Mac at ako na lang ang natitirang naglalaro sa tatlong OS. Ang main ko ay Mac pero sa auctions ay Windows at pag gusto kong praktisin ang pag sabunot ko sa buhok ko dahil sa sobrang geeky ay syempre Linux. Mac at Linux ang ginagamit ko pag kinakalikot ko ang mga sites ko para medyo safe sa hak, virus at spyware at walang problema sa crashing. Windows naman pag gusto kong mag update ng AVG at spyware at syempre "everybody loves sleezy pop-ups and Viag ads" diba... without these crap, life can be very boring :D

Diba Windows at MAC ka rin?

Tol, paki tignan yung pic ng OSX... pentium 4 :D mas geeky yan keysa sa VMware :devil: yung isang ka tropa ay pati AMD pinaglaruan :D

Punta ka sa "Windows" menu, yung dating start. Tapos i-click mo "Programs", lalabas yung "Snipping Tools" doon. O kahit i-search mo na lang sa search box, lalabas naman yan eh.
