Jun Matsumoto and Yui Aragaki will co-star in a new TBS drama series titled "Smile." Takayuki Takuma ("Hana Yori Dango") is handling the script, though he is using his real name rather than his usual pen name of Mikio Satake.

Matsumoto plays a half-Filipino whose father has died and mother has disappeared. Despite his misfortune and the issues he deals with, such as race, he lives his life positively with a constant smile.

I'm not a particularly big fan of MatsuJun.
but for some strange reason, I was hooked on watching Hana yori dango so he is a familiar actor to me.

I'd be curious how they treat the story.
I'm sure he wouldn't need to do any lines in Filipino (unlike Katori Shingo who had a Vietnamese accent coach because he had some lines in Vietnamese when he did Doku way back in '96)
I do hope the writer will do extra research to come up with a credible character.

I hope na maganda ang portrayal nila sa Filipino character
I will guess that Matsumoto jun is half because of a Filipino Mom
which is in the story is gone by the wind
I wanna see the good traits of being his filipino
sana the writer will give justice to the story being a half blood Filipino of the actor in the character..
